Masoom Group · Srirangapatna, Karnataka · 1976 – 2026

We give back more than we take.

India's first sunflower oil refined without caustic or sulphuric acid — made in plants powered by our own wind turbines, which produce more than twelve times the energy we use.

About the group

Named for the people we serve.

The group's first venture into oil was in 1976. Fifty years and a number of industries later, one idea still runs through everything we build.

Ma·soom
मासूम  ·  noun, Hindi–Urdu

meaningAn innocent — someone who deserves to be guided toward the best, and given the quality they are owed.

Great Place To Work® certifiedMasoom Group, India

We believe the customer is a Masoom. Not naïve — but trusting, and too often deceived about what goes into the products they use every day.

So the group's focus is not on selling what we make. It is on educating customers about what they have been sold, and offering an alternative built on quality and, above all, value.

That is why our oil is refined without the acids the industry treats as standard, why our plants run on wind, and why a share of what the group earns goes back into schools, hospitals and homes around Srirangapatna. Giving back more than we take is not a slogan we chose; it is the way the numbers work.

Technology

Refining, the way nature intended.

Conventional refining strips oil with caustic soda and acids, then adds preservatives to put shelf-life back. We took a different route — and had it checked against European standards.

  1. STEP 1

    Select the seed

Only the highest-grade sunflower seed enters the plant. Quality starts before the first press.

  2. STEP 2

    Power it with wind

Our turbines generate more than twelve times the electricity the group consumes — the refining runs on green power.

  3. STEP 3

    Refine without acid

No caustic soda. No sulphuric acid. No phosphoric acid. The oil keeps its natural goodness instead of having it stripped and re-added.

  4. STEP 4

    Test around the clock

In-house labs staffed by chemists 24 hours a day hold every batch to a uniform standard, and run R&D on cutting effluent further.

  5. STEP 5

    Bottle it clean

Preservative-free, sold as Sunpure. What's in the bottle is oil — nothing else.

Conventional vs. Masoom

The process was developed with experts from the United States, in consultation with the Sunflower Association of the USA, and raised to European-level standards using equipment sourced worldwide.

Every plant has a full laboratory, and a standing R&D programme on reducing the effluents refining can produce.

Businesses

Three divisions, one balance sheet with the planet.

Food is where we started. Wind is how we power it. Infrastructure is where the group's discipline for detail went next.
